This Privacy Policy describes the information HiDoodle LLC ("HiDoodle") collects through its websites, mobile applications, software, and services (colletively referred to as the "Services"), and how we collect and use it. 1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
We may collect the following types of information:
- Account information - When you create a HiDoodle account, we ask for and store information about you, including your name, email address, and signup location. We use your information to create your account, and we use your signup location to help target the Services to the town you live in. We use your email address to send you updates, provide services to you in connection with the Services, and to contact you on behalf of other users sending you messages and sharing lists with you. We may also use your account information and history to display relevant advertising to you. We may combine the information you submit with information from other HiDoodle services or third parties in order to provide you with a better and more integrated experience and to improve the quality of our Services.
- Location data - The Services can provide useful information based on your location, such as displaying relevant nearby stores. If you tell us where you are by using these location-enabled services, we may store and use that information to provide you with location-based information and advertising.
- Inviting friends - You can invite your friends to join HiDoodle by providing their contact information. We may store and use your friends' contact information to invite them to join HiDoodle.
- User communication - When you send email or other communications to HiDoodle, we may retain that information in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests, and improve our services.
- Activity and log data - HiDoodle stores information related to your use of the Services, such as which webpages you view, the stores you choose to shop at with a list, your browser type, IP address, requested URL, referring URL, browser language, and the date and time of your visit. We use this type of information to administer the Services and provide the best possible service to you. We also aggregate the information of all users in order to analyze the behavior and characteristics of users and to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the Services.
- Cookies - We send cookies to your computer or other device in order to improve the quality of our service. You can setup your browser to refuse all cookies, however, some HiDoodle features and services may not function properly if you disable cookies.
- Feedback - All feedback, complaints, questions, and inquiries may be stored so that we can effectively respond to you.
- Administration - We may use the information described above for routine administrative purposes, such as investigating abuses of the Services, responding to user inquiries and enforcing and applying our Terms of Service.
- Credit card purchases - HiDoodle uses trusted and secure third parties when processing purchases for products, services, and advertising for our users, partners, sponsors, and advertisers. HiDoodle may store information about the transaction, such as the item purchased and at what price, but HiDoodle currently does not store any credit card information.
In addition to the above, we may use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, protect, and improve our services (including advertising services) and develop new services; and
- Protect the rights or property of HiDoodle or our users.
HiDoodle uses servers owned by trusted and secure third party web hosting companies in order to provide our Services to our users.
2. Transfer of Information
- Third party advertising - Third parties serve some of the advertisements on the Services. We do not send any individualized personal information to them, but they may have access to information that they obtain through cookies or that you share with them yourself. Note that we do not rent, share, sell or trade personally identifiable information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
- Aggregate information - We may share non-personal aggregate information to third parties, such as advertisers, sponsors, and stores, relating to user behavior. For example, we may disclose the number of users that have been exposed to, or clicked on, advertising banners.
- Business transfers - If another company acquires HiDoodle or all or substantially all of our assets, that company will possess your information, and will assume the rights and obligations with respect to that information as described in this Privacy Policy.
3. Changes to this Privacy Policy
HiDoodle may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version of the Privacy Policy will govern our use of your information and will always be located on this webpage at http://notes.hidoodle.com/home/privacy.php. If HiDoodle determines that any changes to this Privacy Policy are significant, we will post a more prominent notice on our website or through an email notification. By continuing to access or use the Services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
